Description for the presentation 2016-2017 in the National Museum of Modern Art

Executed on identical sheets of paper (157 x 126 cm), these drawings represent a kind of sketchbook or journal. Samples – meteorological, journalistic or scientific – from a systematic, long-term pictorial project, they represent an assemblage of various everyday issues confronted by the artist. Like a kind of Surrealist automatic writing, the Studio Wall Drawings are for the artist “a way of recording very subtle long term changes and associations in my life and work – works forming long before I was consciously aware that I was making them”.
