Description for the presentation 2013-2014 in the National Museum of Modern Art

Pevsner wanted to free sculpture from what had defined it for centuries: weight, volume and gravity. Here he makes play with light, lines and dynamic energy. When the viewer moves in front of the work, an impression of movement is created. In 1920 Pevsner wrote “The Realist Manfesto” with his brother, also an artist. In opposition to the traditional canons of art, they said: “We claim a new element in the plastic arts: KINETIC RHYTHMS, which are basic forms of our perception of real time.”
