The Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped

Project for Paris, Place de l'Étoile-Charles de Gaulle

by Christo and Jeanne-Claude

from 18 September to 03 October 2021

The project in Paris for the Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped was designed by Christo in 1962 and is finally being carried out before our very eyes!

Christo returned to the idea in 2017 when the Centre Pompidou proposed a retrospective of the Parisian period of his artistic career: "Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Paris!" from 1 July to 19 October 2021. The exhibition had to be postponed several times, in particular after the death of the artist last spring, on 31 May 2020. The Centre des Monuments Nationaux continued the work to complete the project according to precise instructions left by the artists and in close collaboration with Christo’s teams.

To follow live!
