#1. May 2020, a museum in lockdown
Welcome to the empty galleries of the Musée National d'Art Moderne, housed on levels 4 and 5 of the Centre Pompidou. During the long, exceptional closure of the museum, security officers and curators continued their efforts to look after the exhibited artworks. Embark on an exploration of this permanent but secret side of the museum.
#2. Waiting for Matisse
In the second podcast of Le Mensuel, the Centre Pompidou’s magazine tells us about the preparations for the "Matisse’s work as a novel" exhibition, postponed until the autumn due to Covid-19. It is an opportunity to take a closer look at the practice of painting during lockdown and to think about the future of large-scale exhibitions, as well as contemporary aspects of Matisse’s work.
Presented by Mathilde Serrell, with Aurélie Verdier (curator at the Mnam and manager of the "Matisse’s work as a novel" exhibition from 21 October 2020 to 22 February 2021 at the Centre Pompidou), Guy Tosatto (head of the Musée de Grenoble) and Corentin canesson (artist).
