The Centre Pompidou is dedicating most of this end-of-Movement exhibition to the Fondation des Treilles, a long-standing partner in the Var region, an exceptional transdisciplinary venue and a "showcase for thought" designed by Anne Gruner Schlumberger.
Works from the museum, one in the garden and one in the woods, evoke a bucolic setting with southern accents. Among the artists most represented is Max Ernst, with several major paintings and his Capricorn, a majestic sculpted group, another example of which adorns the Domaine des Treilles. Victor Brauner and Takis also feature prominently in both collections, highlighting a shared history.
Last but not least, a retrospective of the Les Treilles "Résidence de la photographie" prize is also part of the exhibition, alongside pieces from the Museum.

Plastic arts Exhibition
One section of the exhibition at the end of Moviment invites us to explore the future in more occult ways.
At the heart of the exhibition is the divinatory and astrological research carried out by the Surrealists around André Breton, Roberto Matta and Victor Brauner, particularly between 1941 and 1947.
Arcana, tarot cards, the Jeu de Marseille, astral themes and mystical symbols are all present in the works in this selection, which has been extended to include other research, such as an unpublished manuscript by Romany Marie, a Gypsy innkeeper in Greenwich Village, It's all in your Cup (circa 1928), an essay on reading in the coffee grounds with period photographs left to Constantin Brâncuși.
Less divinatory but just as dreamlike and strange, 40 original collages from Max Ernst's La Femme 100 Têtes (1929), treasures from the Museum's graphic art cabinet, are here, exceptionally, all exhibited together.
The Musée national d'art moderne–Centre Pompidou and KADIST are embarking on a three-year collaboration to explore the meeting points between artificial intelligence technologies and the field of artistic creation and production. More precisely, this project focuses on critical perspectives from artists in this moment of emergent technologies, accelerationist techno-positivism, and destabilized image regimes. These extractive softwares are poised to disrupt, launching debates about automation, problematics of cultural aggregation, issues of artistic consent, and the limits of copyright.
The collaboration, which brings together the Centre Pompidou and KADIST, has three components: a public discussion (2023), an exhibition (2024), and an intervention in the public space (2025).
Moviment inaugurates this project with a series of conferences, screenings and debates, presenting the current state of work and reflection.
