Younes Rahmoun is interested in the theme of the house and his studio, the ghorfa [bedroom] having itself become a work. For this artist, building a house consists of using the space not only physically but also mentally. He calls on his spiritual experience and personal imagination, and on collective memory as well, to adapt his concept of the house to objects and experiences. Manzil-Janna, meaning "paradise-house" in Arabic, is an installation of seven translucent sculptures in white resin in the form of houses, each perched on four long white stilts. These fragile, precarious refuges can be seen as a dream of a house – somewhere you feel at home.
