Animal

Élisabeth de Fontenay, special guest. For the opening session, the philosopher and writer is set to give a lecture entitled “Éloge du regard et de la caresse” (eulogy of sight and touch). She discusses the contemplation of animals: their beauty, the strangeness of this contemplation and the joy it brings. Contemplating animals also provides the rare opportunity to consider the enigma of the being in general and the enigma of the being in terms of animals in particular, so alike yet so different, because of their silence.
