This triptych represents Rem Koolhaas's architectural project for the Boompjies Tower on the Maasboulevard in Rotterdam.
ln 1982, the city of Rotterdam entrusted the task of renovating this district to the OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), founded by Rem Koolhaas in 1975. The project aimed to unite the business district and residential area by proposing a dynamic urban ensemble in which the vertical alignment of the towers, typical of modernist urban planning, was counterbalanced by buildings composed of horizontal and oblique planes. The project was presented as
a study at "Les lmmatériaux" exhibition but was never built.
