Description for the presentation 2012 in the National Museum of Modern Art

Alix Cléo Roubaud is a Franco-Canadian photographer and writer. She is known for her Journal, published after her death by her husband, the poet Jacques Roubaud. She was also the central character in the 1980 Jean Eustache movie Les Photos d’Alix. Between the end of the 1970s and the start of the 1980s, she developed a highly personal photographic style influenced by medieval Japanese poetry, Rakki tai, which centres on the art of tricking death.
