Chris Marker, Zapping Zone (Proposals for an imaginary Television), 1990-1994

A sunday, a work

08 Dec 2013

The event is over

When he made Zapping Zone in 1990 for the exhibition 'Passage de l'image', Chris Marker created his first progressive multimedia installation. Borrowing from his own work and major sources ranging from Tarkovsky to Japanese television, he offers viewers an immersion in his personal mythology: a genuine key to capturing the singularity of a protean body of work.
By Mathilde Roman (video art and installation academic, and lecturer at the Pavillon Bosio art school in Monaco) and Christine Van Assche (curator at the Musée National d'Art Moderne)
