The arrival of light video coincided with a movement of renovation in advanced and artistic teaching in France during the Seventies. Video, which developed in the post-May 68 period, was the instrument and witness of the decompartmentalisation of culture and a "de-hierarchisation" of relationships between teachers and students. Coordinated by the players of history as yet little known, this lecture examines the processes for appropriating this new tool, the object of various uses, and "DIY" projects within and outside the university institution. The session draws on a selection of "first-time videos": films shot during classes and seminars, works by students and teachers, etc.
Film show/lecture coordinated by Hélène Fleckinger: with Patrice Besnard, Jean-Louis Boissier, Annie Couëdel, Jean-Paul Fargier, Danielle Jaeggi, Marie-Hélène Tramus and Serge Le Péron/as part of the research programme "Cinema/video, art and politics in France since 1968: set-ups, archives, digital"by the LabEx Arts-H2H/in partnership with Université Paris 8 and the BnF/free admission.
"Vidéo et après" is a cycle of meetings with artists and art historians, with film shows, talks, performances and discussions.
