ln an age of mass-produced images, this work looks to the very beginnings of the photographic medium to find the path to rediscover its magic.

The polished bronze disc coated with a thin layer of nickel is reminiscent of the highly polished pure silver surface of a blank daguerreotype, on which a photographic image is recorded using a process developed in the 1830s by Nicéphore Niépce and Louis Daguerre. Daguerreotypes were also known as "mirrors with memory". When lit up, the bronze disk projects the words "forget me not", written using Niépce's heliography, onto the surface in front of it, like a Chinese magic mirror.
