The Greek artist Socratis Socratous explores the question of ruins and memory. His approach makes use of different media, including photography, installations, performance and sculpture, with a highly sensitive, almost instinctual relationship with the materials. His work is based on a search for terrain, using an archival, quasi-anthropological method. The "Architectural Strategy" series of 2011, from which two photographs are shown here, illustrates the artist's simultaneously political and poetic commitment as regards the destruction that runs through contemporary crises and affects the private lives of individuals.
