When and why did the Centre Pompidou building close?

The iconic building in the Beaubourg district closed its doors on 22 September 2025 for a major five-year renovation, including extensive technical upgrades. In 2030, it will reopen—more welcoming, more daring, and true to its original spirit: a vibrant place where the arts meet, engage in dialogue, and are constantly reinvented. Find all the information about the Centre Pompidou’s renovation project here.

During this period, the Centre Pompidou building is no longer accessible.

The Public Information Library (Bpi) has relocated to the Lumière building, in Paris’s 12th arrondissement.

What programming is offered during the Centre Pompidou’s renovation?
Throughout its transformation, the spirit of the Centre Pompidou shines more than ever. Thanks to the Constellation programme, the collection and exhibitions are travelling across France and around the world.

Will there be a new "Membership Space" during the renovation period?
Starting in early 2026, you will be able to ask questions and take out or renew a membership in person at the Maison Pompidou (formerly the Brancusi Pavilion).

This new space will serve both as an information and welcome center for the future Centre Pompidou project, and as a venue for exhibitions, talks, screenings, and workshops.

What are the benefits of the POP’ programme?

Visiting with children exhibitions at the Grand Palais

If you are coming to see an exhibition co-produced by the Centre Pompidou at the Grand Palais with children under the age of 18, you must book a free ticket online in advance.

Please contact us by email to order a duplicate for €5. 

Replacement is free only if you provide a police report for stolen cards

Switching from digital to physical?

You cannot hold both formats. If your digital card hasn’t been used yet, we can replace it. Just contact us.

Downloading your digital card:

In your personal area, go to "Tickets", select your membership, and click "Open mobile ticket" to access your digital card.

Can’t find your membership?

Try logging in with another email. If issues remain, reach out at 01 44 78 14 63 (Mon–Sat, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., excluding holidays).
