Sharing a strong artistic vision and bond with the Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, the Centre Pompidou is seizing the opportunity offered by its renovation period to take part in the 21st edition of the Biennale, from September 6 to 28, 2025. Together, the two institutions are designing a journey through the multifaceted worlds of three major figures on the contemporary scene: Eszter Salamon, Gisèle Vienne, and Dorothée Munyaneza.

The Biennale de Lyon

The 21st Biennale de la Danse de Lyon will present nearly 40 performances from September 6 to 28, 2025, across the Lyon metropolitan area and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region—half of them being premieres or French debuts.

Inaugurated by its traditional Parade, the world’s largest dance festival will take over some fifty venues, reaching out to all audiences. It will also welcome many professionals during its Focus Week. For the first time, the Biennale de la Danse will also take place in the new cultural venue Les Grandes Locos.

The Biennale de la Danse is organized by La Biennale de Lyon, which alternates the production of two major international events: the Biennale de la Danse and the Biennale d'art contemporain.
