A young Finnish woman gets on a train in Moscow to visit the archaeological site of Murmansk. She has to share her carriage with a stranger. This proximity and other improbable encounters gradually bring these two people, who are polar opposites, together.

The Finnish director turns a train journey that is anything but glamorous into a fascinating film that sensitively explores gender conventions to suggest that existence, like cinema, is played out while stationary and off the track.”
