Nature morte

In a province in northern Iran, the world of a former level crossing keeper collapses when he and his wife have to leave their house on his retirement. In the latest film he made in Iran, Shahid-Saless provides a very different picture of his country from the one presented by the Shah. The film received the Silver Bear Award at the 1974 Berlin Festival.
