The event is over
After spending ten years in prison, Nasrollah regains his freedom and sets out in search of his mother in the poor districts of Teheran. He discovers that she died while he was away, leaving him a gun and a target. "Requiem is a masterpiece of Iranian cinema that few have seen, as the original print was destroyed. Following the tradition of the first Italian neo-realist films, Requiem is a magnificent achievement in black and white, set against the background of a Teheran that no longer exists." Hamid Dabashi, Corpus Anarchicum, 2012.
