Since the mid-2000s, artist and director Beatrice Gibson has been narrating the
role of emotions and memories, in films inspired by literature, music,
architecture and film. Among her works at the frontier of poetry and oddity,
the two films Deux Sœurs qui ne sont pas sœurs and I hope I’m Loud when I’m
Dead are presented as a diptych. Here, Beatrice Gibson explores the maternal
experience, childhood and the strategies of female resistance in a foreign and
unstable world. She thus creates an inclusive feminist tale which transforms
vulnerabilities into beauty and exalts human feelings.
Screening in the presence of the artist, followed by a poetry reading by the
art critic and poetess Alice Notley
