"I started to paint concrete pictures in 1936 and I haven't stopped since."
After studying weaving, drawing and colour theory in Base1, Verena Loewensberg took painting lessons with Auguste Herbin in 1935. She covered the surface of the painting with a square module with a repeating shape and right-angle pattern. The only variant is the positioning and intersecting of the lines within each square. The overall effect is one of fluctuating lines like sound waves.
