Autoglyph#25
2019
Two years after the CryptoPunks, Larva Labs launched an on-chain generative art project, of which all the data is stored on the NFT.
Each of the 512 Autoglyphs consists of a unique abstract composition composed of simple symbols such as +, -, 1, /, \, # and 0. The compositions can be reproduced in different ways, including Wall Drawings reminiscent of those by the American minimalist artist Sol Lewitt. The limited amount of information that the NFT can hold forces Matt Hall and John Watkinson to submit to the old constraints imposed upon the pioneers of digital art, such as Ken Knowlton and Michael Noll, to whom this project also pays tribute.
