Lycée scientifique Guglielmo Marconi, façade sud-est
novembre 1971
Composed of buildings arranged around two internal spaces, the Pesaro campus is in dialogue with its surroundings.
This school complex reflects Carlo Aymonino's interest in architectural typology and urban morphology. The architect was part of a generation that returned to the Italian rationalist culture and the experiments of the European functionalists. ln Italy, he was a central figure of intellectual debate along with Aldo Rossi. By promoting a political and critical architecture that was based on an urban logic, he broke with the academism that had been adopted after the war.
