Cardboard & Glue
2005
The objects Hassan Sharif makes are produced from recycled materials which the artist folds, glues, cuts and assembles or heaps. Here the cardboard has been so covered in glue as to become almost unrecognizable, producing objects both banal and dense. In working, Sharif develops long and repetitive processes inspired by industrial mass production, and the objects so produced allude to the excess of production and consumption.
