Fauteuil How high the moon
1986 - 1987
Interior designer Shiro Kuramata established his own firm in 1965 and in the 1980s joined the Memphis group. A leading figure of the international avant-garde, in 1986 he designed the How High the Moon chair whose lightweight but ample structure tends to disappear in a translucent play of light and shade, making him a designer of the immaterial. Cultivating a certain spirituality and inwardness, he privileges the sensual and intuitive, choosing to work with everyday materials such as steel mesh.
