Through the vibrant interplay of lines and forms, Kandinsky creates twelve autonomous and poetic microcosms, twelve ''little worlds" of sensation.
Kandinsky made this portfolio shortly after arriving at the Bauhaus and with the support of the school 's printing shop. lt is comprised of prints produced utilising three different techniques. Drypoint (on copper) creates sharp and precise lines. Woodcut produces a richer texture and depth. Lithography (on stone) offers a smooth surface and produces an image closer to one of a painting.
