In this compilation of performances, Peter Weibel questions the notion of identity.

The artist proposes multiple video self-portraits. In Tritität, he overlays his face on top of a portrait of Christ painted by Piero della Francesca and that of Romantic poet Nikolaus Lenau, thereby confronting these works. In another series titled Selbstbeschreibung [Self-description] (1975), he uses his on-screen depiction as a surface for writing through a closed circuit.Using language, means of representation and technology, Weibel shows that identity is a construct above all else.
