This sculpture in painted cast aluminium – a Christmas tree – is both a decorative object and a marker of time. This “time monument” was inspired by the idea of a piece that would be a work of art for eleven months a year and a useful object in December. In the age of the postmodern, Fraught Times offers a new way of thinking of the artwork in time, through sculpture rather than an intrinsically temporal medium
