Signes sur noix de cola
1980 - 1983
Frédéric Bruly Bouabré is an artist, poet and prophet from the Ivory Coast. He attaches great importance to the “science of observation”, whereby making something visible provides proof that it is real. He collects strange occurrences and abnormalities in nature. Like a prophet, he understands or sees signs on the surface of things, which he transposes into his works – as with this transcription of perceived signs onto cola nuts.
