Coupe BB', ferraillage
1973 - 1975
Named after its owner and builder, the Unal House (1972-2008) is the fruit of his encounter with architect Claude Costy-Haüsermann. She and her husband Pascal gained a reputation in the 1960s for buildings distinctive in both form and internal layout, both building technology and aesthetics. Freed from the right angle by the technique of concrete sprayed onto metal mesh, the bubble-like volumes swell and cluster to provide spaces made for curling up in. A new mode of dwelling is proposed by this planned design become long-term improvisation.
