Fabrice Hyber’s “Prototypes d’Objets en Fonctionnement” or “prototype working objects” were born of a desire to free the viewer from the logic of contemplation and to promote the active appropriation of the artworks. Taking their place in everyday reality, they are above all invitations to play. Designed by Hyber, they are produced and sold in the ordinary way by Unlimited Responsibility, a company he set up in 1994, thus linking the worlds of art and business. Endowed with new uses, these reinvented objects prompt innovative practices and alter the viewer-user’s perceptions of everyday life.
